splinters - headlamp

Note to self:
When trying to get a splinter out, use the headlamp flashlight to shine light on it! That is much easier than trying to hold a normal flashlight at the same time as a needle.

comments

how I got the splinter out this time

I picked at the skin with a needle. And tweezers. I sucked on it. I rubbed soap on it and washed it off. I did something else for an hour. I picked at it with the needle and tweezers some more. I could see the splinter quite distinctly at this point, but it still wasn't sticking out for me to be able to get it with the tweezer.

I spit on it. I squeezed the area around it with my other hand, trying to push it out from the bottom. It came out!

..

I worry how I'm going to be able to get splinters out when I'm older and my eyesight isn't as good. Over the years, I've read many suggestions and remedies. But I always have a hard time remembering what has worked for me personally, besides picking at it with a needle. So I'm going to try to remember to write down what works, each time it happens.

comments
