bring your bag and get a nickel back
I brought my own shopping bag to Target today, for the first time.
Before now, I've only used my own bags at grocery stores. Partly maybe, because other stores (which sell bags and clothing) might not readily realize that my cloth bag was a bag I brought in versus one of theirs that I might be trying to steal. And partly maybe, because I like it when they give me a big plastic bag, because those are good to use when I'm picking up trash from the street. (But eh, the smaller bags work fine for that too; just need to take more than 1 of them out with me.)
But anyway, I had no problem at the checkout, and the cashier deftly fit all my stuff into my bag.
And my receipt shows that I got a 5 cent credit for it!
I keep finding new vegan dairy-free ice cream brands, and new flavors.
Ben & Jerry's now has a "Cinnamon Buns" flavor, which I haven't tried yet. They are up to 9 flavors now, and I've seen all of them for sale locally.
I've come across some of the Haagen Dazs dairy-free ones in several stores by now, including Target. These are somewhat unique in that they aren't all made from a specific non-dairy milk (almond or coconut or cashew or soy), like most other brands are. There's a coconut caramel flavor that is based on coconut milk; there's a peanut flavor that's based on peanuts; there's a chocolate fudge flavor that's basically sugar, corn syrup, and chocolate. Yet they all taste fairly creamy and good.
The So Delicious cashewmilk-based line has added "Bananas Foster" and "Peachy Maple Pecan" flavors.
Today I came across Halo Top dairy-free ice cream at Target. It's a low-sugar brand, with some Stevia in it (which I often don't like the taste of, but it's not very noticeable in this). I got the "birthday cake" flavor - it has colored sprinkles in it.
