Cruella

The Cruella movie trailers I saw back in May, along with the wonderful music, impressed me greatly, but I figured I'd wait until it was shown on TV. I'm still miffed about the Disney & Alan Dean Foster thing, even though it's at least partially been resolved. I didn't want to deal with movie theaters, and I don't have Disney+ (nor have any intention of signing up for it).

But a family friend is in town, and there weren't any open-air concerts today that interested us, so she and I went to see the movie. Besides us, there were only two other people in the movie auditorium. I kept my face mask on anyway.

The movie was stunningly good. The visuals were great. The story was interesting and didn't go as I expected (I'm glad I didn't see spoilers before, and that the trailers weren't fresh in my memory anymore.) There were a few quite nifty surprises, and one which I figured out before it was revealed. I'm so glad I went and watched it. It felt like a totally adult movie to me, though I'm sure children could enjoy it too.

good looking

"Kick Ass 2" played on TV while I was doing some other things and half-watching it.

One of the villains in the movie is called "Mother Russia", played by bodybuilder Olga Kurkulina. I like how she looks. Muscles! Her face makes me think "female Jackie Chan, and blond". And her abs, her abs! She wears a dorky comic-book-style outfit in the movie, but it actually looks quite good on her: https://forosdz.com/temas/batman-vs-mother-russia.175156/
