It isn't intuitive to me that fear will cause crying, as when I feel fear, it makes me tense up and get even more quiet than usual (I'm a quiet person by nature). But I haven't been held captive and physically threatened, so I don't know how that would make me react once the initial shock had worn off.
If physically threatened with something very unpleasant, I imagine that I might beg at first for it not to be done, but if the assailant was ignoring my pleas, I don't think that I'd continue begging.
