It says all rinses use cold water, so the selector knobs should only control the temp of the wash cycle water. There may be multiple wash cycles, but manual doesn't go into specifics. Based on what you say, I suppose I'd never need heavy duty for the things I wash.

I know I shouldn't spend a lot of time overthinking it like I do, and should choose a few settings to always use and go with that. But so far, every time I see that knob with 13 choices and have to decide, I can't help myself from dithering.
