I know of some people who moved from LJ/DW to Facebook, and used that for a while but then disappeared. Which I'm not sure means if they stopped using online social media, or changed names, or if they moved on to some other site or app. Some other people dropped me from their friends lists, which I don't blame them for, as I hardly ever post there and only read it sporadically.

Maybe so. That is all pretty invisible to me as I don't use it; I only use chat at work. I hadn't even heard of those particular apps before. Not that I have anything against IM, but don't have enough friends and social interactions for it to make sense. And real-time chatting without a specific topic is sort of hard for me.
