oh yes, they're here!

OMG, thanks to MM, I search for "wicky wicky song" and YouTube plays me some of my favorite songs from the 1980s... I think I still have these on cassette, taped from the radio (and therefore somewhere in the converted files on my computer), but I never knew the artist or song names. ::grins and dances maniacally:: ::squee-screams::

Yo baby, yo baby, YO!!

..

The roller-skaters in this video are awesome, like break-dancing on skates; I've never seen skate-dancing like this:

But dang, how can they do all that without falling. I think I had a pair of skates when I was a small kid, but never got any good at it, and don't remember ever being in an indoor skate rink, much less with music.

Ah, that's hilarious! Glad I (accidentally) pointed you in the right direction (also: Jam On It's one of my all-time fave dance songs, with Pump Up The Volume a close second).

Stop me if I've said so already but Youtube's basically Pandora and has been for years, but is getting better the last year or so at automatically algorithm-ing an endless playlist of songs it thinks you might like. It's particularly good at things like "songs from the 80s", "90s", and genres like hip-hop or rap. It's also good at mood; if I pick an upbeat song like Van Halen's Jump! or Cyndi Lauper's GJWTHF it's pretty good at keeping the uptempo-thing going. I suppose the same would apply in reverse, though I wouldn't know since I can't take too much moody stuff at once.

Glad you're having some fun with it... :)

Newcleus were brilliant. Cyborg Dance is my favorite, but I love all their songs.

A podcast I listen to had an electro episode recently that you might enjoy: https://soundcloud.com/kiskelfacit/hjarngymnastik-073-kemoprofylaktisk-hundsurfing-med-marc-mac-electro-funk-mixtape
