I saw it used in a caption for a pretty photo. I don't think I've ever read much Thoreau, other than perhaps a few brief things back in school. Just now I read a few pages of The Maine Woods, and it seems rather dry reading, though interesting to learn what things were like back then. On Walden Pond starts out more intriguingly, and not like I had thought it would.
Walden is one of my favorite books. I have dozens of lines from it memorized. The Maine Woods isn't nearly as good, but then Thoreau had only started revising it at the time of his death.
