Oh, and today I saw a hot-pink colored caterpillar. I didn't think of taking a photo of it.

I love the safety cone nest.
Is the white material cottonwood fluff, or sand? It can't be snow, right?

It's sand. I imagine the birds thinking the cones are sort of nice, but that it totally ruins their camouflage.

Maybe their babies will develop orange and white protective coloration!
