add-on updated again
I made another update to my ToggleDocumentColors add-on today (version 1.4.20120122), for a bug related to the one I worked on yesterday.
According to the add-on's Statistics Dashboard, it currently has over 200 daily users.
..
If you are a user of the add-on, and want to report any bugs, feel free to reply to this post.

love your add on, looking forward to next update
(Anonymous) 2012-02-26 03:30 am (UTC)(link)I will delay updating to the new version of firefox until your add-on is compatible. Please keep up the great work and thank you very very much for putting your time into developing this tool.

Re: love your add on, looking forward to next update
I have now marked the add-on as compatible up to version 12.* of Firefox, on the add-on website. Try updating Firefox, and let me know if you still get a message about the add-on being incompatible.
Thanks, Darkoshi

The add-on does have logic which checks the GUID in order to support Seamonkey in addition to Firefox. I will update it to also work with Palemoon, and will post another reply here again when the update is ready.

I tried to recreate the problem by doing another fresh install, with multiple browser windows and tabs open like the other time, but it worked right this time.
toggle shortcut

Re: toggle shortcut
This page lists and explains the possible Modifiers:
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/SDK/High-Level_APIs/hotkeys
For example, the default Toggle shortcut key is set to Control+Shift+C:
toggledocumentcolors.shortcutKey: C
toggledocumentcolors.shortcutModifiers: accel,shift
If you let me know what shortcut key you want to assign and what kind of system you are on, I may be able to provide more specific help. Just make sure that Firefox and your other add-ons aren't using that same key combination for anything else already. I think there is a way to list all the existing shortcuts in use, but I don't remember right now how it is done.

Add menu item
(Anonymous) 2015-07-10 06:27 am (UTC)(link)Re: Add menu item
Or is there a reason why a context menu item would be more convenient for you than the button on the toolbar? Also, what browser version are you using?
Thanks
Toggle colors for a single page?
(Anonymous) 2015-07-25 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)I've been using it for a long time.
One issue I have: it seems to be a global toggle (for all tabs in all windows).
Instead I think it should work only for the page it was invoked on.
The way it is, I come across one page with red text on black background, kill that craziness with your addon, but then all normal pages are screwed up until I toggle back. Or am I missing a config parameter?
I'd rather not go into the code and hack it myself ... :)
Could you please add this functionality - or explain what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks a lot!
Dmitri
Re: Toggle colors for a single page?
It is a global browser setting that the add-on toggles. It is not currently possible to configure it per page, and adding that kind of functionality to the add-on would be difficult. So you simply have to toggle it back and forth, depending on which page you are looking at. You can use either the toolbar button or the hot-key for toggling.
You could try searching if there are other add-ons which do what you want.

Maybe I'll change the add-on to not have any hotkey by default, and only let the user configure one if they desire it. I'll have to see. That's always been one of the troublesome parts, that the browser could start using the same hotkeys for something else in any new release.
