A train track parallels one of the roads I drive on from work to home. As I was driving home today, I saw a train stopped on the track. It seemed unusual. Then as I drove along, I saw some blue police lights flashing up ahead, at one of the intersections with a train crossing. Then I saw a media van with a tall antenna. Then I saw the crossing gates, and a car smashed into the train.

What had happened, though, turns out to be different than someone trying to make it across the tracks before the train. No one was hurt, by the way.
