Modern front-loading washing machines are amazing to behold in action. Imagine something that can spin at 1200 rpm! That's 20 spins per second! And making such a wonderful humming/zooming noise! It seems like something that would belong at... an airport maybe, or... a particle accelerator installation, but it's right here, in my house.
