I had felt the beginnings of a sore throat, so I took my regimen of vitamin C, garlic pills, and echinacea for 3 days, which got rid of the symptoms. But now that I've been off it for a day, it feels like the sore throat is returning. In the past, my regimen would often cure me and prevent the horrible runny nose and congestion of a cold that usually follows a sore throat for me. But it is in situations like this that I wonder if I should continue with the garlic pills, or if that would lead to an unending standoff between my body and the virus. With a virus like this one, which withstands my regimen, do I have to let myself get sick, in order to get cured?

I always eat oysters (canned oysters) when I feel illness coming on. They're packed with zinc, something that your body needs for a healthy immune system. Anyway, it seems to help me a lot.
