Google shouldn't be sending anything. The referrer URL is sent by the browser:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_referrer

So this sounds like a Firefox bug to me.

If you could replicate it then opening a bug would be good.
If you don't have an account you can create one now.
HTML doesn't work in the subject.
