The issue I mentioned above was due to the add-on not having installed correctly for whatever reason (the icon didn't get added to the toolbar automatically like it should have, either). Disabling the add-on, restarting Firefox, and enabling it again fixed the problem.
I tried to recreate the problem by doing another fresh install, with multiple browser windows and tabs open like the other time, but it worked right this time.
