A few impressions on rewatching this movie:

Padme must be at least ten years older than Anakin. But in this movie she seems like the young naive one; or at least as young as him. Her being in love with Anakin still doesn't seem believable to me.

Even Anakin turning so completely to the dark side doesn't seem believable to me. Killing the Jedi and younglings, just because Palpatine told him to?

Anakin wanting to save Padme from dying is what eventually leads to her death. The classical "trying to foil the prophecy brings it about" theme.

The lizard-like creature which Obi-wan rides in this movie seems as familiar to me as the tiger-like creature in the last movie. Odd.

If General Grievous is a droid, why was he hacking and coughing? He must be a cyborg. But if his arms and legs and torso are all mechanical, why keep sickly organic lungs rather than replacing them too?

There wasn't as much trite/predictable dialogue in this movie as the last one. But still, the emperor said something like "and now, feel the full power of the dark side!" before attacking Yoda. Isn't that the same thing he said in RoTJ, before attacking Luke? It always seems trite/ridiculous to me, in so many movies when both the "good" guys and the "bad" guys say silly arrogant taunting things like that before attacking their foes. In real life, wouldn't you just go ahead and attack (or finish off the other person) rather than wasting time gloating about how great you are?

When Anakin/Vader was in agony, burning to death, why didn't Obi-wan kill him then? I know he didn't want to kill him, but at this point it would have been an act of mercy. And then maybe Vader wouldn't have survived.

It's about time I watch some of the special features - at least the deleted scenes - on these discs. That I haven't yet watched them all is a reflection of my lack of interest in the movies since episodes 2 & 3 came out. It is why I didn't care enough to go see Episode VII on the opening day. I'm a different person now than when the original SW/ESB/RoTJ movies came out. If I saw them now again for the first time, they'd probably not affect me nearly as much as they did when I was a kid.

Now I can go watch Ep. 7. I'm sure I'll like seeing the original characters again. But I doubt I'll care much for the plot. Some new heroes, some new foes, a bunch of fighting that's supposed to be exciting. Ho hum. We shall see.
