I'm not sure, but it seems to me if people stopped using social media sites like Facebook and Twitter then Cambridge Analytica would have no way to continue to function. So I hate to say it's like the lambs leading themselves to slaughter, but until the masses switch from the cattle-rounding sites they use now to more decentralized and less easily trackable hangouts, yeah, it is like that.
