Maybe not financially cheaper, but definitely emotionally cheaper... as long as the new one doesn't give me problems too. The last straw was that last night it even let me open the door while there was still a significant level of water inside (I hadn't noticed - I just heard the "click" of the door unlocking and wanted to check the clothes). The water started pouring out, but I was able to shut the door again real quick, so only a small amount got out which I was able to sponge up easily.
