With me the problem was also overcrowding. To get the room they needed to space them out correctly, I had to have my top jaw broken. Look that one up: so they inserted a device across the roof of my mouth with a hole in the middle so they could put a key in it. They broke my jaw open a little more every time they saw me by turning the key. The whole process took at least all of 7th grade, or the better part of (if not more than) a year, but that could be because I was still growing, so they couldn't do it too fast.

So until your orthodontist takes all the...casts and films, I think it's called...it's probably hard to say what making room for your teeth to sit correctly might require.
