Voters in Massachusetts voted NO to three out of three questions on the ballot here. Meanwhile, state lawmakers yesterday again refused to vote on a proposed ban on same-sex marriages, a move that effectively killed any chance that the measure would appear on the 2008 statewide ballot. The vote dealt a crushing blow to opponents of same-sex marriage looking to overturn a 2003 Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court decision that ruled that gays and lesbians can legally marry under the state constitution. Yes, it’s cold in New England, but we have demonstrated that our hearts are warm. Perhaps all that heat down south has turned most South Carolinians brains to mush.
