I have a bulk rename tool which I use to rename the photo files with the date & time taken in a certain format. That is the easy part. Then I crop the photos, if I only want to keep part of the image. Then I rename them to indicate what is in the photo, and/or where it was taken. I think an AI could be trained for those steps, based on the photos I've previously renamed, along with person and pet recognition to get names right. It likely wouldn't work for everything, and I'd need to double-check & make corrections, but it would probably speed the process up a lot.
I did a search now and found there are already AI tools forr renaming photos based on content. This one sounds intriguing: https://ai-renamer.com/ (That website doesn't seem to be fully working yet; must have just been created.) Some others sound like they require more technical expertise to use. I'm not sure I'd trust any of them at this point with my files. And I'm not sure there are any trainable the way I'd want. But it sounds promising.
