Mastodon notes
Sunday, September 1st, 2019 05:38 pmApparently the Pinafore interface doesn't show if posts have replies. Or if so, maybe it depends on which instance the replies came from. Each item only shows a single arrow or double arrow. I would expect a double arrow to mean that someone else replied. Often it's that the same person replied to their own post; ok I guess. After I reply to a post, the entry still has a single arrow. But my reply shows in the list on its own, with a double arrow. Makes no sense to me.
When using the Mastodon web interface, the icons show numbers by them so you can see how many times the post was replied to, reblogged, or favorited.... No... Whatever page I was on before showed numbers, but now the main page doesn't show them either, just like Pinafore. Ach, it really makes no sense to me. Looking at my feed, it seems like there is hardly any interaction; everything feels so isolated, and it makes me feel less like interacting myself.
And then I scroll through the Galaxy posts, and find funny images that make me laugh. Should I favorite them? Should I reblog them? Did the person who posted them make the image themselves, or did they copy it from somewhere else? That feels like Facebook and Tumblr.
