I sit down on the bench by the picnic table.
Clambering out of the pond, two geese squawk at me.
Me: Hey, I was here first.
Geese: Squawk! Squawk!
One goose hunkers down on what looks like a nest.
Me: ...oh. You're saying you were here first?
Geese: Squawk!
Me: It's OK, I won't bother you. I think there's enough space here for all of us.
