Tiny objects transported into the Twilight Zone

When you accidentally drop something small... you hear the sound it makes hitting the floor.. but then, searching the whole floor, even with a flashlight, it is nowhere to be found.

It's happened in the past with a needle.
Today it was a chocolate chip.
Both things potentially dangerous to be left on the ground, for people walking barefoot, or dogs snooping around.
