Sunday, February 17th, 2008 04:43 pmSo I called Staples again, and the person who answered this time knew what I was talking about. He verified that they take small items like keyboards and mice (and hard-drives?) for free, and larger items like monitors and printers for $10. And that one can bring them to the Customer Service Desk.
Now I wonder where I can take old fluorescent light tubes for recycling.
I took a bunch of accumulated recyclables to the unmanned recycling drop-off station on Fort Jackson. It's a bit eerie there, like a windy old ghost-town with no one else around, and parts of the big metal collection bins clanging in the wind. Some newspaper pages had fallen out of one bin, and were being blown away. I tried to catch some, but most of them were too fast for me.
