Firefox problem

Whenever I open a new Firefox browser window, it now seems to lock up my computer for several seconds. It used to be, I could right-click a link to open it in a new window, and continue reading/scrolling the original window while the other one opened. This is something I do fairly often, sometimes opening 2 or 3 other windows, while finishing reading the first. Now the browser locks up until the new window finishes opening.

It's either something with my computer, or something with a recent Firefox update. Anyone else notice anything similar?

Thanksgiving day meal

I made a yummy and simple tomato-sausage dish (cheers to kellineil for the idea) and a cheesecake. Forestfen made curried greenbeans, onion-fried spaetzle, and pecan pie. All vegan versions of the above, naturally.

wide-angle digital cameras

I am getting FF a new digital camera for xmas, since the old one she had been using stopped working. I was looking specifically for cameras with wide-angle capability (<=28 mm focal range / 35mm equivalence), and at first it was not easy to find a list of all cameras which fit that criteria. I just stumbled across them a few at a time, while reading reviews.

But then I found this page, which lists a bunch of cameras and their basic specs including focal range:

Even that page, though, doesn't list some of the older wide-angle models which are still available, including the following:

I decided on the Lumix DMC-FX35, mainly because it is 25mm which is even wider than 28mm, and also taking into account reviews and price. Otherwise I might have gotten her a Canon PowerShot, as that is the kind I have.
