I generally think of plastic as being water-proof. But some plastics must let water slowly leach out.

When I used to do cloth painting, I used liquid paints as well as the thicker acrylic paints. The little bottles of paint, each a different color, are 15 to 25 years old by now. The paints in the glass bottles are still fine. The paints in the plastic bottles are all dried out. This was a tendency I noticed even back then when I still painted - the paints in plastic bottles always got thicker over time, and I had to mix in water to get them back to their original consistency. I never had to do that with the paints in glass bottles.

The black acrylic paint would have come in handy for something right now. But I suppose I can use black nail polish instead.
