Forestfen's mouse wasn't working at all. After some investigation, I determined that there was a break in one of the wires in the cord. So then I was able to cut the cord near where I thought the break was, and spliced the wires back together inside the body of the mouse, and now it works again. :)
Might not last long - the spliced wires might come loose; but for now it's good.
