Being subjected to the nerve-grating noise of leaf-blowers at my hotel at the beach.

Last night, a lot of people, mostly kids, were playing with some kind of super-strength laser-pointer thing. You could see traces of laser light on the hotel walls and balconies, and down at the beach... in some places you could see the whole straight line of laser light. I say super-strength, because I even saw laser lights coming from the pier which is about 13 blocks away. I was concerned whether it could be dangerous, if the lights happened to hit one in the eye. And yet the thingies which the people were using looked no larger than a small flashlight. I'm tempted to go buy one for myself, if I can find one.
