They look so young in that photo, I checked their ages.
Sure enough, they're both more than a year younger than me.

This morning I saw a senior citizen discount offered to anyone 55 or older, and realized that would be me in a mere 7 years. Inconceivable. I still feel like the same young person inside, just with more experiences and a worse memory.

I too hate being asked what my age is, because I hate having to do math, and I can never remember my age without having to do math. And let me tell you, subtracting 1982 from 2019 is not easy for me.

All of this compounded by the fact that I don't feel 37. If I had to put a number to how I feel, most of the time I think I'd say 20 at the most. Of course, Alex is a teenager still (18 or 19), and Molly is 7. As for Pi... I'm honestly not sure what normal for xir species would be, so I have no idea what to even guess on that one. Djao'Kain is of course ageless and ancient all at once. Lo has been missing for years now, but she was like 17, last we knew.

Fayanora Ahnabahn and Tempest being AKB, human Angels don't really have much meaning for them because the AKB stop aging around their equivalent of 20 and don't really physically change much at all even if they live to be 150.

If you're wondering why I said "their equivalent of 20," it's because AKB maturity is different from humans, and kind of confusing. Their gestation period is roughly equivalent to 12 Earth months, they are able to speak and walk within minutes of being born, and their childhood is shorter than human childhood. By how much is not clear to me. But I think that they physically mature several years ahead of humans but mentally are pretty much on par with human development. Though their sexual maturity is slower than humans.

So basically, you get an AKB who looks about 17 when they're actually chronologically only maybe 12, and mentally are 10, but are not yet sexually mature. What I mean is, they get as tall as a seventeen-year-old human by the time they're 12, but they don't grow breasts until they're much older, as part of puberty. All of which makes a lot of sense considering that Traipah has a lot of things that try to kill you, as it is basically Australia on crack. So it's a good strategy to bulk up their size as quickly as possible and deal with puberty at a later date.

It's easy enough to tell, though, when they have reached full maturity. Because at full maturity, not only do they have breasts, the... There's no real way to put this gently so... AKB (who are a hermaphroditic species) have a prehensile penis, which is called a grahbihn. Before sexual maturity, it is yellow. Once they're fully mature, it turns green.

And since the majority of their cultures don't have the same Hang-Ups about nudity that we do, that's why it's kind of obvious. Especially since, like dolphins, they frequently use their grahbihn as a third hand.

Also, one part I'm not sure about is that they may or may not have similar coloration on the rest of their genitals. Though it would make sense for them to have that.

Getting a little bit more on track, their equivalent of 20... I'm not sure what chronological age that would actually be, but whatever it is, it would be full mental and sexual maturity.

Human penises seem weird to me, but from reading the Wikipedia page to see what it said about dolphins, many animals (not only dolphins) have even weirder ones.
