Lovely user answer to a question posted on Amazon about the "Twin Draft Guard Extreme Door Guard":

How about them windows?
asked by r.a. on January 1, 2014

Them windows, so distant, so hard to know. I remember once, way back, talking to them windows as they sat on the steps at the end of the day, smoking a cigarette and looking at nothing in particular. "Hey," I said, cautious but loud enough for them to here. "You look lonely." ...

The same person also left this product review on the same item:

If Hades had been guarded by Cerberus with the same vigor and vigilance with which the Extreme Door Guard guards my door, then Heracles would have been devoured like so much Purina puppy chow.

I'm not convinced it's an authentic/unpaid review, but it gave me a smile.

At my work, we are transitioning to using Git in place of SVN. During a recent meeting, one of our techs mentioned that using TortoiseGit, it had taken half an hour to download the files for just 2 of our projects. One of the BAs retorted, "Isn't there some other tool, like HareGit maybe, that would be faster?"

At the ObGyn office today, I glanced across at a display of brochures. Mostly pregnancy-related stuff, female incontinence, IUDs, how to deal with twins, prenatal something or other... then an odd one caught my attention.

The brochure's cover read "This is my baby / right now", and had a photo of a woman pushing a swing... but with a strange thing in the swing. It looked sort of like a fancy camera. Definitely not a baby. Eh? Why is there a camera in the swing? Is she taking videos with a swinging camera? Where's the baby? I didn't get it. The brochure said "Skyla" on it, and I made a mental note to look it up later.

So I did, and Skyla is a type of IUD. The top of the brochure says, "Up to 3 years of continuous birth control", but I didn't see that part before. The image might have made more sense had I read that part.

About 1 Day remaining

Yet the progress bar is nearly half way through, and it's taken less than half an hour so far, so I'm not concerned.

Ooh, now it jumped to "About 24 Minutes remaining".

Nothing else I've read in quite a while has had me laughing as much as this has.

Hooks that help you carry stuff with true ease - Attention working people! When you are exhausted and on your way home from work, you will be so glad that you own the “Hooks that help you carry stuff with true ease”!

You can attach these “Hooks that help you carry stuff with true ease” to a pole for hanging straps and comfortably stay on your feet without using your hand.

I also came across a heated mouse, which actually sounds like a good idea.

I'm about ready to take my shower now. It's 4pm and I'm still in pajamas. But at least I've been up since before noon. I didn't go to bed until after 5am, so I would have liked to have slept longer, but it wasn't working out that way.

Qiao, on the other hand, went to bed way earlier than me. He just got up out of bed a little while ago, and now is already lying down in the recliner. I asked him what he had accomplished to warrant him taking a nap already?

His reply:
"I got up!"
"I took 2 dumps!"
"I took my pills and let the dogs inside!"

okays, my nails look much more attractive to me now that I can see their whites again.
next time I'll leave the whites bare to begin with.
i wonder what it would look like to only put a circle of polish on each nail.

In case you've been considering the rewarding joy of having a pigeon companion, this photo shows the minimum standard of accommodation that they will expect you to provide.
